Zoom Workplace takes the familiar Zoom experience and turns it into a full collaboration hub, bringing video meetings, team chat, calls, whiteboards, docs, calendar and mail together in a single, coherent interface. It feels like a natural evolution for people who already live in Zoom all day.

The star of the show is AI Companion, available with Pro and Business licenses. It quietly does a lot of heavy lifting: summarizing unread chat threads, preparing key points before a meeting, and even drafting emails or documents so you’re never starting from a blank page. Meeting summaries are especially useful for catching up after you’ve missed a call or joined late.

As a communications tool, Zoom Workplace remains reliable and straightforward. Joining or scheduling meetings takes a tap, chats feel responsive, and integrated calling and SMS (where supported) reduce the need to juggle separate apps. Virtual whiteboards and Zoom Docs make it easier to keep discussions, notes, and decisions in the same ecosystem rather than scattered across tools.

The app is clearly designed for work on the move. You can hand off a live meeting from your phone to another device with one tap, use Picture-in-Picture to keep a call visible while checking notes, and take advantage of split screen on tablets. “Hey Google” voice commands and enterprise-grade security round out the experience for professionals who need both convenience and control.

On the downside, the wealth of features can feel dense for newcomers, and the most powerful AI capabilities sit behind paid plans. Still, if your team already uses Zoom for meetings, Zoom Workplace is a compelling way to centralize daily work, cut context switching, and lean on AI to stay organized and prepared.
